Washington, D.C. – Today, MoveOn Political Action highlights Mehdi Hassan’s recent interview with Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who made it abundantly clear that she is a fundamentally unserious candidate with Russian ties trying to help Donald Trump win the White House.

Highlights below:

• Stein refused to condemn Russian dictator Vladimir Putin as a war criminal.

• Hassan asked whether Stein regretted her comments from 2016 saying Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are the same. Her reply? “No.”  

• When asked what qualifications Stein has to run the world's most powerful country, the world's biggest economy, most advanced military, she replied: "I served on the Lexington Town Council for five years."

“Stein’s campaign is not only disingenuous but dangerous,” said Joel Payne, Chief Communications Officer for MoveOn Political Action. “Republican and right-wing operatives are helping Stein’s campaign because they know that her candidacy solely benefits Trump. There’s a clear choice to make in this election, and Vice President Kamala Harris is the only candidate with a proven track record of taking on Big Oil and building an economy that works for every American.”

In recent interviews, Stein has eviscerated what little credibility she ever had and picked fights with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Last week on the Breakfast Club, Stein butchered question after question – unable to answer questions as simple as how many members of Congress there were. After Stein tried attacking Ocasio-Cortez, the hosts schooled Stein, saying, "The one thing AOC has done that you haven't is win some elections."
